My origin story
I’ve been drawing since I was three years old—and somewhere along the way, superheroes, monsters, and comic books became more than just something I loved. They became my language.
I’m a self-taught comic and graphic artist who learned by studying the masters, filling sketchbooks, devouring comic-art books, watching tutorials, and drawing constantly. My influences range from Marvel and DC to Invincible and Mike Mignola’s Hellboy, along with my love for the expressive energy of retro anime. I’m inspired by bold characters, dynamic storytelling, larger-than-life worlds, and art that makes you stop and look twice. My style is an energetic blend of Western art and Eastern animation, combining the hard-hitting shapes, dramatic storytelling, and larger-than-life attitude of Western comics with the expressive characters, movement, and visual energy of retro anime. I’m constantly experimenting with that crossover to create a style that feels distinctly my own.
But for me, comics are about more than capes and cool characters. They’re about representation, imagination, and seeing yourself as the hero of your own story.
As a Black artist, I’m passionate about creating characters and worlds that reflect the people and experiences often missing from mainstream nerd culture. I want Black kids to look at my artwork and see heroes who look like them—and realize that they belong in these worlds too.
Whether I’m sketching a character, building a comic universe, or bringing an idea to life on the page, I’m always chasing the same thing: create something that feels larger than life and leaves a mark.
This is my art. This is my world.
Welcome to it.
